Geocaching is a modern version of the treasure hunt, using a free geocaching application that you download to your smartphone beforehand. You set off on the hunt for the 'caches' (objects or scrolls that have been hidden by other participants). To find some of these 'caches', participants will have to solve several riddles or puzzles before getting the GPS coordinates for the 'cache' and to find the treasure hidden there.
You are the star of your own adventure!
Just picture yourself, an explorer in modern times, alone or with your loyal team of helpers, venturing off along narrow footpaths, into the woods or forest. Equipped with your smartphone and a pen, make sure you follow the route carefully and pay attention to the distance between you and the treasure you're searching for. Time is ticking away... You're getting closer... Only 10 metres away... Now only 5... Oh no, you've missed it... You'll have to go back, look carefully at your surroundings and try to see where you went wrong. Then suddenly, something magical happens... You notice a small crack in the wall, a piece of string hanging from a tree or a small hole in the ground... And your heart rate starts to pick up... You've found it! You've found the treasure, and depending on what it is, you'll need to take a small object out of the box and replace it with another one of your own or just simply write your name or group name on the scroll to show you've been here, and to tell future adventurers that you found the treasure too.
